ahwō
ahwō is a sound-producing instrument made of sensors, pumps, and water. Pumps controlled by sensors generate air bubbles, whose movement and dissolution underwater create audible sounds. These sounds are amplified using self-built microphones and further shaped through effects devices. Over the course of the approximately 20-minute performance, an improvised, constantly shifting sonic texture emerges — a living, organic sound that reshapes itself anew with every performance.
